About YWAM Carmen CDO

to Know God and make Him Known

2091 History Picture

Today, YWAM Carmen–CDO continues with the same foundational convictions that gave birth to the ministry. We desire to know God and make Him known.

We desire to proclaim the Gospel.

We desire to make disciples.

We desire to train and equip believers.

We desire to strengthen the local church.

We desire to raise missionaries and Christian workers.

We desire to reach our own community while keeping the nations before us.

Our vision remains rooted in the pattern of Acts 1:8:

Our Jerusalem — Carmen and Cagayan de Oro City.

Our Judea — Misamis Oriental and the surrounding communities.

Our Samaria — Mindanao and the Philippines.

The ends of the earth — the nations and peoples to whom God may send us.

We believe that local ministry and global missions should never be separated.

We begin where God has planted us, but we keep our eyes on the nations.

About YWAM Carmen CDO

LAUNCHING OUT IN FAITH — APRIL 2019

After prayer, seeking God, and sensing His direction, Fronie and I knew that the time had come to obey. In April 2019, we stepped out in faith and pioneered the ministry in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.

There was no large team waiting for us.
There was no established base.
There was no guarantee of what the ministry would eventually become.

There was simply a conviction:
God had spoken, and we needed to obey.

Like many pioneering works, the beginning was small.
We prayed.
We built relationships.
We shared the Gospel.
We discipled people.
We taught the Word of God.
We served wherever doors opened.

And we trusted the Lord to establish the work in His own time.

About two months after we launched, God brought encouragement through a longtime friend and fellow YWAM coworker, Dranreb, who joined us and served alongside us for approximately six months.

Those early months were important.

We were learning that pioneering ministry is not primarily about buildings, programs, or numbers. It is about obedience to God, faithfulness with what He has entrusted, and investing in people.

The foundation was being laid one relationship at a time.
